The Schermützelsee. Largest body of water in the Märkische Schweiz. A clear water lake with a depth of 38m and an area of 137ha. It is not only home to many animals and plants, but also pampers the Buckowers and their guests with refreshing coolness, especially on hot summer days.

Unfortunately, the heart of Märkische Schweiz is in a worrying state. At the moment, everyone involved is examining which conservation goals are defined for the lake and to what extent they are to be implemented in practice. Let’s hope that all those responsible decide in the sense of the lake. Otherwise I might have to paint the turquoise with a dirty olive green … (as of April 2020)
